Russian Liturgical Music at Meyerson

March 16, 2009

The Arts District Chorale presents Transformed by Time and Space on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., a multi-sensory event in the Grand Lobby of the Meyerson Symphony Center, the third installment of the Chorale’s 2008-2009 Season of Transformation, sponsored by The Fairmont Dallas.

This event marks the first time in the twenty-year history of the Meyerson Symphony Center that the Grand Lobby will be featured as a venue for a full-scale performance. The visual and acoustical splendor of the cathedral-like lobby offers an ideal space for this unique experience of Russian choral masterpieces representing some of the greatest achievements in Russian liturgical music.

The Chorale welcomes internationally acclaimed artist Constantina Tsolainou as Principal Guest Conductor to lead this event. The program features excerpts from Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil along with other composers from the New Russian School including Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Gretchaninoff, Chesnokov and Cui.

Tickets in advance are $20 general admission; $15 seniors (age 65+); and $5 students (with valid ID). To purchase tickets, contact the Arts District Chorale at 214-942-5085 or e-mail a ticket request to:
