PORTSMOUTH — For bringing elected officials, first responders and concerned citizens together to prevent suicide on the Seacoast, the Rev. Angelo Pappas was honored at the N.H. Suicide Prevention Conference.
Pappas was honored for his role in the formation of the Seacoast Prevention Coalition. The conference was held at Loon Valley in Lincoln, where Pappas was presented with a plaque by representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

In July 2008, emergency responders had answered their 56th suicide-related call of the year when Pappas, spiritual leader for St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and chaplain for the police and fire departments, described the problem as “epidemic.”
